William Scott Blair

William “Scott” Blair, 59, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away early Tuesday morning, November 9, 2021, at Labette Health in Parsons, Kansas.

William Scott Blair was born March 23, 1962, in Pratt, Kansas the son of William K. Blair and Martha (Bayless) Blair. He grew up in Cherryvale and graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1980.

Scott served his country with the United States Army from 1982 until his honorable discharge in 1989. When discharged he attained the rank of Specialist/SPC.

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, collecting Fostoria for his daughters and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. He will be remembered for loving his family, kind heart and onery living.

Scott worked at a Bus Shop in Georgia, as a heavy equipment mechanic and most recently a long-haul truck driver.

Survivors include his mother, Martha Blair of Cherryvale, children, Christina Blair of Pittsburg, Kansas, Ashley Blair of Parsons, Kansas, Samantha Blair of Joplin, Missouri, brothers, James Blair of Cherryvale, Doug (Shelli) Blair of Altamont, Kansas, granddaughters, Nevaeh, and Jayden, 17 nieces and nephews and 15 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” Blair, paternal grandmother, Opal Blair, maternal grandparents, Freda and Ted Bayless, aunt, Frances Stacy, and cousins, David Stacy, and Michael John.

Graveside memorial services with military rites will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale.

Memorial remembrances are suggested to Disabled American Veterans or Wounded Warrior Project and they may be left or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.
