Willard "Vaughn" Cline

Vaughn Cline, 90, a lifelong resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Fredonia Regional Hospital. He was born October 7, 1922 in Fredonia, the son of Willard Noble and Grace Frances (Harbin) Cline. Vaughn served in the United States Army during World War II, 1943-1946. On June 15, 1947 at the Chanute United Methodist Church, Vaughn was united in marriage to Erma Pauline Stuckey. She survives at their home in Fredonia. Vaughn and Pauline owned and operated their farm and ranch for more than 64 years. In 2011, they sold the farm and moved into Fredonia. Vaughn was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #3018 and the First Christian Church in Fredonia. In addition to his wife, Pauline, he is survived by His sister: Valetta Templeman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Three nieces: Alice Marie Eck of Fredonia, Kansas Gayle Keeton of Edmond, Oklahoma Jean Hazels of Leavenworth, Kansas Six great-nieces, four great-nephews, numerous great-great-nieces and nephews, and four great-great-great-nieces and nephews. His parents, Willard and Grace Cline; one sister, Jewell Sharp; and two nephews, Gary Sharp and David Hazels preceded Vaughn in death. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Timmons Funeral Home with Carl Thornton officiating. Private family inurnment will take place in the Fredonia City Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Vaughn"s name with V.F.W. Post #3018 and donations may be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home. Words of condolence for the family may be left on this website.
