Walter "Lee" Bradford, 81, a lifelong resident of rural Altoona, Kansas, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha, Kansas. He was born August 22, 1934 in rural Altoona, the son of Walter H. and Marie Helen (Wiltse) Bradford. Lee attended first through eighth grades at Thornburg School and graduated from Altoona High School. On October 2, 1953 at the Neodesha Christian Church, Lee married Carol M. Green. He and Carol lived and raised their children northeast of Altoona, where they lived for over 62 years. A lifelong farmer, Lee also raised cattle and hogs, and also had a dairy farm. He was a member of the USD 387 school board and served on the Cedar Creek Watershed board. Lee and Carol received the Kansas Banker"s Soil Conservation Award in Wilson County. Lee also owned and operated Lee"s Implement in Fredonia. Those that loved Lee enjoyed his sense of humor. Lee is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Richard Bradford and his wife Debbie of Chanute, KS; daughter, Sharonlee Voth and her husband Tom of Fredonia, KS; sister, Bonnie Ladd of Humboldt, KS. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Stefanie (Bradford) Senf, Scott Bradford, Jennifer Bradford and Brandon Voth; and five great grandchildren, Adam, Christopher and Collin Senf and David and Delaney Bradford. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Virginia Stone, Lois Erickson and Bernice Johnson. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Timmons Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Yoo of the Altoona United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Altoona Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in Lee"s name with the American Cancer Society and donations can be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
