Violet Lura Deal

Violet Lura Deal, 86, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Fredonia Regional Hospital. She was born May 18, 1919 in Fredonia, the daughter of Eugene and Ada (Reynolds) Wise. She was a retired nurses aide at Fredonia Regional Hospital. On September 5, 1939, she married Clarence (Mac) McMurray. He preceded her in death November 10, 1988. On December 23, 1993, she married John Deal. He survives at their home. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Fredonia and the Christian Women"s Fellowship. She also was a member of the Fredonia Senior Citizens, the Mary"s and Martha"s Quilters and worked the local Bloodmobile Drives for many years. Survivors, in addition to her husband, John, include, One Daughter, Melinda Alexander of Belle Plaine, KS; One Brother, Milton Wise of Haysville, KS; 3 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00P.M. on Monday, January 30, 2006 at the First Christian Church in Fredonia with Rev. Steve Brodbeck officiating. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, 3:00 P.M.-5:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in her name with the First Christian Church and may be sent to the funeral home.
