Vera "Louise" Eikenberry

VERA LOUISE EIKENBERRYLouise Eikenberry, 92, of Cherryvale, KS passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS.Vera Louise Eikenberry was born September 8, 1922 in Cherryvale, Kansas the daughter of Marion Adam Kolb and Mary Elizabeth (Sessions) Kolb. She grew up in Cherryvale and attended Cherryvale Schools.On March 18, 1940 she was united in marriage to Arthur "Reed" Eikenberry at her parents" home in Cherryvale. Reed preceded her in death January 5, 2013.Louise moved to Leoti, Kansas in 1965 and lived there until returning back to Cherryvale in 1985. She was a homemaker, her favorite hobbies were cooking and sewing. She was a generous person and was all about her family.She was a member of the Cherryvale United Methodist Church.Survivors include, daughter, Kathryn Wing and her husband John of Burnet, Texas, son, Kent Eikenberry and his wife Diana of Rogers, Arkansas, son in law, Kerry Bright and his wife Donna of Cherryvale, Kansas, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Karen Kay Bright in 2002, son, Phillip Keith Eikenberry in 1941, great granddaughter Amanda Fromong in 2006 and great grandson Scott Fromong in 2010.Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 23, 2015 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th Street, Cherryvale, Kansas with Bill Booe, officiating. Friends may sign the register book from 12 Noon until 6:00 P.M. Thursday"with the family receiving friends from 5:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Cherryvale, Kansas.Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Cherryvale Fire/EMS and they may be mailed or left at the funeral home.
