Theodore "Ted" A. Cassity

Theodore (Ted) A. Cassity, 79, died Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Cherryvale Care Center in Cherryvale, Kansas after an extended illness. He was born November 19, 1926, in Fredonia, Kansas, the son of Ernest and Bernice (Hall)Cassity. He served in the United States Army. In 1984, he retired from Boeing, where he had worked as an industrial engineer for 30 years. On July 3, 1945, in Augusta, KS he married Margaret (Peggy) Bird. She survives at their home in Fredonia. Ted attended the First Christian Church. He enjoyed playing the piano, sailing, playing bridge and building airplanes. Survivors including wife Margaret (Peggy) Cassity. Three Daughters: Susan Correll and husband Jim of Coffeyville, KS Cheryl Weitzel and husband Phil of Wichita, KS. Catherine Troxel and husband Michael of Renton, WA. Grandchildren: Sara Weitzel, Kelsey Haines, Patrick Weitzel, Chad Merkel, Kaelyn Merkel, Amanda Troxel and Kate Wetzel. He was preceded in death by his son, Terry Cassity. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 18, 2006, at Timmons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Brodbeck officiating. Burial will be in Fredonia City Cemetery.
