Teddy G. Wood

Teddy G. Wood, 91, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Thursday June 14, 2018 at his home.
Teddy G. Wood was born on May 27, 1927 in Scott City, Kansas the son of John C. Wood and Maude B. (Hancock) Wood. He grew up in Cherryvale and attended Cherryvale Schools.
On March 27, 1946 in Girard, Kansas he was united in marriage to Emma Jean Dack and she preceded him in death April 14, 2010.
Teddy enlisted with United States Navy on May 28, 1945 and was honorably discharged July 10, 1946.
Teddy was self-employed owner of Cherryvale Auto Parts & Salvage south of Cherryvale on 169 Highway and Cherryvale Body Shop in Cherryvale for 38 years.
Teddy a member of Masonic Lodge, VFW, and Cherryvale United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed being a cattle rancher and will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, good friend and neighbor.
Survivors include his son, Terry Wood of Cherryvale, Kansas, daughters, Jeanne Thompson of Coffeyville, Kansas and Trish Lair of Wichita, Kansas, 7 grandchildren and 18 great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandson, Joshua Wood, 4 brothers ,Tom, Arnold, Myron, Clyde Wood, 2 sisters, Norma Stopher and Marie Kenyon.
Friends may sign the register book with family receiving friends Monday June 18, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas.
Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the funeral home.
Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery with military rites by the United States Navy Honor Detail.
Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Cherryvale United Methodist Church or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
