Stephan W. Beard

Stephan Wendell Beard, 78, a resident of Fredonia, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Wilson Medical Center, Neodesha, Kansas.

Steve was born September 15, 1940 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Hobert Beard and Nita Harper. Beard. He grew up in and attended school in Erie, Kansas.

On May 16,1959, he was united in marriage to Judi Crane. To this union three children were born, Tracy, Eric and Tony. She preceded him in death in 2003.

Steve served in the Navy for four years. He was an iron worker, drove trucks, worked at the jail and recently worked at Pete’s.

Steve was a member of the Patriot Guard of Kansas.

Steve enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed sports and drinking Mt. Dew.

Survivors include his grandson, Jacob Beard and wife Amanda of Fredonia, five grandchildren, Hayden, Macie, Anthony, Mackynzy, and Hunter and daughter in law, Dixie Beard.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife, children, Tracy, Eric and Tony, his parents and brother, Paul Beard.

Cremation has taken place with Graveside services being held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Fredonia Cemetery.
