Sharon S. Thibus

Sharon S. Thibus, 79, of Cherryvale, Kansas formerly of Independence, Kansas passed away Friday, October 29, 2021, at Cherryvale Nursing and Rehab Center in Cherryvale, Kansas.
Sharon Sue Thibus was born July 19, 1942, in Independence, Kansas the daughter of George Alexander Feugate and Mary (Berk) Feugate. She grew up in independence and graduated from Independence High School in 1960.
She was united in marriage to James “Jim” L. Thibus, and he preceded her in death November 16, 2003.
Sharon worked as a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell and at Mercy Hospital. She also worked as a salesclerk at Gansel Jewelry in Independence. She later worked at Potts Chapel in Independence with her husband Jim.
Sharon enjoyed watching television and going to the casino. She was a member of the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Independence, past member of the Altar Society and later attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Cherryvale.
Survivors include her sister Sonja (Ted) Housel of Cherryvale, Kansas and nieces and nephews, Stephen and Michele Housel and Kirk and Ethel Mae Housel all of Cherryvale.
Friends may sign the register book from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.
Graveside services will be held 2:30 P.M., Friday, November 5, 2021 at Calvary Cemetery in Independence, Kansas.
