Ruth Lorene Lance, 84, a longtime resident of Fredonia, Kansas died Monday, June 1, 2015 at Fredonia Regional Hospital. She was born May 10, 1931 in Fredonia, the daughter of Addison M. and Cleo G. (Cook) Bauman. Ruth was a graduate of Fredonia High School. Throughout the years she had been employed at Klassy Cleaners, Kansas Bank Note Company and most recently for Dr. Oswaldo C. Bacani. On June 19, 1948 in Arkansas, Ruth was united in marriage to Gerald Lance. He survives at their home. Ruth was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she enjoyed playing the organ. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Ruth enjoyed playing golf and doing counted cross-stitch and knitting. Ruth"s survivors include: Daughters: Kala Tarter of Washington Susan (Harold) Eck of Fredonia, KS Cathy (Jim) Howard of Fredonia, KS Sister: Edith Dennis of Kansas City, MO Grandchildren: Dorinda (Jerry) Knowle Destany Tarter Deshanon (Eric) Wallace Charlie Tarter Degalene (Israel) Ferguson Suzette Eck Allen (Tina) Howard Eric (Kathleen) Howard Nine Great Grandchildren Her parents; brothers, Glen Bauman and Leland Bauman; sisters, Mary Louise Hurlbutt and Helen Whinery and great grandson, Kagen Wacker preceded her in death. Rosary will be said at 9:30 A.M., followed by Mass at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Stephen Thapwa officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Hometown Health Care and contributions can be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home.
