Ruth Azelda Philpot

Ruth Azelda Reinke Philpot was born in Des Moines, Iowa on February 13, 1912, the only child of Daisy (Lytle) and John Reinke. After graduating from high school at the age of 18, Ruth moved to Washington, D.C. where she worked for the federal government, eventually becoming an accountant for the United States Navy on Coronado Island in San Diego, California. She married John Wayne Philpot on Valentine"s Day of 1965. Ruth enjoyed quilting and arts and crafts. She moved to the Stevenson, Washington area to be closer to her son, Charles Brown and his wife Lona. Mrs. Philpot passed away at the age of 102 on January 13, 2015 in Stevenson. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Charles and Lona Brown of Stevenson, WA stepson and daughter-in-law Mike and Cathy Philpot of Pittsburg, KS five grandchildren and four great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband John, who passed away in 2008, and daughter Charlene Robinson, who passed away in 2012.
