Roy D. Willoughby, 77, a resident of Raymore, Missouri, raised in Fredonia, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at his residence. He was born September 12, 1933 in Chanute, Kansas, the daughter of Jerome and Myrtle (Burns) Willoughby. He served in the Korean War, attaining the rank of sergeant in the United States Air Force. He worked for the Federal Civil Service for ten years as a personnel supervisor for the Marine Corps Finance Center. Roy was a member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons (blue lodge), serving as Past Master Lin Wood Lodge #152 twice and Past Master Grandview lodge #618. He also held membership in the York Rite Masons, serving as High Priest in Chapter #56 Lebanon, Missouri, Past Commander Lebanon Commandery #33, and Knights Templar Lebanon, Missouri. Roy was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite mason in Kansas City, Missouri, Past worthy Patron OES Chapter #365. In addition, he was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 8220, life member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #2, and Honorary Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say at H. Roe Bartle Scout reservation. Roy"s survivors include: One son: Roger H. Willoughby of Grandview, MO Two daughters: Ladonna Swinney of St. Louis, MO Neva "Kay" Woody of Cameron, MO One brother: Dale Willoughby of Haysville, KS Grandchildren: Austin H. Willoughby and Cody James Willoughby Tiffany Swinney A graveside service will held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, December 20, 2010 at the Coyville Cemetery, with Rev. Gene Benefiel of the Buxton Christian Church officiating. The McConnell Air Force Honor Guard will conduct military rites. A memorial service will also be held at Grandview Masons Lodge #618, Wednesday December 22, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in Roy"s name with the Disabled American Veterans and contributions can be sent to the funeral home. Words of condolence for the family may be left on this website.
