Rose Audrey Cummings

Rose Audrey Cummings, 97, formerly of Fredonia, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at Victoria Falls Nursing Home in Andover, Kansas.

Born May 26, 1921 in Fredonia, Kansas to Ira Benjamin Harrison Dove and Rose (Brindle) Dove. Rose attended and graduated from Fredonia High School in 1939.

Rose was a homemaker, Avon representative and worked as a cook at Fredonia, USD #484.

On September 8, 1939 in Wichita, Kansas she was united in marriage to Howard Edward Cummings and he preceded her in death February 18, 2001.

Rose was a member of Fredonia First Christian Church. She enjoyed volunteering at the Christian Thrift Shop and served as a Girl and Cub Scout Leader.

Survivors include her children, Joan Jones (Jack) of Joshua, Texas., John Cummings (Susan) of Wichita, Kansas; brother, Paul Dove, Fredonia, Kansas; three grandchildren, Tiffany Vazquez, Jennifer Cummings, David Neal Lawrence; two great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Rhodes, Margaret Dove; brothers, Ira Dove, Robert Dove, and husband Howard.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Fredonia.
