ROLLIE CLARKRollie Clark, 72, of Independence, KS passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Independence.Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 25, 2013 at Cherryvale Christian Church with Pastor Eric Lang, officiating." Inurnment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale.Memorial remembrances are suggested to Cherryvale Christian Church and they may be left or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216, East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas" 67335.Rollie Clark was born May 22, 1941 in Cherryvale, Kansas the son of Rollie J. Clark and Daisy Mae (Kriebel) Clark. He grew up in Cherryvale and Independence and graduated from Independence High School in 1959." After high school he attended Independence Community College.He was united in marriage to Velma and had three children during this union and she preceded him in death." On September 4, 2004 in Independence he was united in marriage to Bess Vance and she survives at the home.Rollie was member of the Cherryvale Christian Church, loved to fish and was a Kansas City Chiefs fan." He was a jack of all trades and there was nothing he couldn"t fix." He lived in the Oregon and Washington most of his adult life. He worked as a fireman for many years and also worked as a maintenance man for a school and hospital.Survivors include his wife of the home, one sister, Helen Leffler of Raymore, Missouri, three brothers, Chet Clark and his wife Diane, Don Clark and his wife Cathy, Loren "Butch" Clark and his wife Jean all of Independence, one granddaughter, Andrea Clark of Hayward, California, two step sons, Gerald and Wayne Riedle of Independence and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marge Klingenberg.
