ROBERT "BOB" S. RUTLEDGE JR.Robert "Bob" S. Rutledge Jr., 70, owner of BB Automotive in Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Monday, September, 30, 2013 at his home in Cherryvale.Cremation has taken place under the direction of Wickham Family Funeral Home of Cherryvale." Private family services will be held at a later date.Robert S. Rutledge Jr. was born September 27, 1943 in Bridgeport, Connecticut the son of Robert S. Rutledge Sr. and Kathleen (Myers) Rutledge." He grew up in Brooklyn, New York and lived many places growing up.On September 4, 1965 in Auburn, Washington he was united in marriage to Patricia Nation and she survives at the home.Bob worked as a truck driver for years traveling through every state except South Dakota and Vermont." He was also an ASE Certified Master Technician working for Romans Motor Company and Quality Toyota in Independence." In 1996 he became owner of BB Automotive in Cherryvale and was still working until his recent illness." Along with his wife the couple owned the LM Carryout in Cherryvale for many years.Bob was known for being a simple man, very hard worker and a giving person." In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and going gambling at the many casinos in the area.Survivors include his wife of the home, one son, Robert "Bobby" S. Rutledge III and wife Laurinda of Cherryvale, KS, 3 grandchildren, Justin Prather of Independence, KS, Myranda Prather of Pittsburg, KS,Mykel Mellen of Paola, KS, one brother Kevin Rutledge and wife Sue of Houston, TX and one daughter, Sara Jones of Coffeyville, KS
