Rev. Alvie Wayne Ware, 86, a longtime resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Golden Living Center in Fredonia. He was born April 2, 1921 in Boise, Idaho, the son of Benjamin and Crystal (Busby) Ware. He was a retired ordained minister, having worked in Nazarene and Wesleyan churches in McCune, Garnett, Howard, Fredonia, Fall River, and Toronto. Through the years, he had also been employed by the City of Fredonia, Quincraft Inc., and Home Lumber Store. On January 6, 1942 in Toronto, Kansas, he married Ferne Parker. She preceded him in death October 28, 1992. He was a member of the Calvary Wesleyan Church in Fredonia. His survivors include: One son: Carl Ware of Chanute, KS One daughter: Ruby Stalder of Chanute, KS One brother: Earl Ware of Pueblo, CO One sister: Bonnie Wylie of Humboldt, KS 10 Grandchildren; 27 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great Grandchild. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Wynonia Henson; one grandson, Steven Ware; one great grandson, Michael Wills; two sisters, Nellie and Ruby; and one brother, Leonard Glenn. Graveside services will take place at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, October 19, 2007, at the Fredonia City Cemetery with Rev. Max Dawson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M.
