Rev. DeVere Lamar DeField, 96, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Fredonia Regional Hospital. He was born February 19, 1911, the son of William Arthur and Mary Alice (Smith) DeField. He moved with his family to the pacific northwest in 1936 and retired to Fredonia in 1976. On March 25, 1932, he married Doris Harman. She preceded him in death March 12, 1996. On August 8, 1999 in Fredonia, he married Patricia Sanford. She survives at their home. Rev. DeField was an ordained minister, pastoring in seven different churches in Washington, Idaho and Kansas, including the Calvary Wesleyan Church in Fredonia and the Church of the Nazarene in Neodesha, where he was a member. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Patricia, include: Two sons and daughters-in-law: Donald & Judy DeField of Lake Tioga, TX Dale and Nancy DeField of Vancouver, WA One son-in-law: Rev. Jim Adamson of O"Fallon, MO 3 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dixie Adamson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, March 9, 2007, at the Calvary Wesleyan Church in Fredonia with Rev. Jim Adamson and Pastor Dale Coble officiating. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Timmons Funeral Home on Thursday, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. Memorials have been established in his name with the Calvary Wesleyan Church in Fredonia and the Church of the Nazarene in Neodesha and may be sent to the funeral home.
