Raymond D. Bumgarner

Raymond D. Bumgarner, a resident of rural Fredonia, Kansas, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at his home. He was born July 18, 1937 in Marshfield, Missouri, the son of Clifford and Helen (Hill) Bumgarner. Raymond was graduated from Fredonia High School in 1956. For 35 years, he was the maintenance superintendent at Archer Daniels Midland Corporation in Fredonia, retiring in 1999. On August 30, 1957, at the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia, he married Viona Payne. She survives at their home. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Fredonia. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Viona, include: Three daughters: Toni Relph of Altoona, KS Kathy Houchin of Fredonia, KS Lisa Connor of Newton, KS Two brothers: Jack Bumgarner of Clovis, NM Bob Bumgarner of Wichita, KS Two sisters: Marjorie Timmons of Fredonia, KS Sheryl James of Joplin, MO Eight Grandchildren and Fifteen Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Timmons Funeral Home with Pastor Kyle Clutter officiating. Inurnment will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Timmons Funeral Home on Friday, 6:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in Raymond"s name with the American Cancer Society and may be sent to the funeral home. Words of condolence for the family may be left on this website.
