RAYMOND BLAES
Raymond Blaes, 88, of Cherryvale, KS, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021 at his residence.
Raymond was born to Leo and Helen (Miller) Blaes, on October 24, 1932 in Parsons, KS. He graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1950.
Raymond was united in marriage to Philomena Doebel on October 24, 1955 in St. Paul, KS and she survives at the home.
Raymond served in the United States Army for two years, after returning he continued his lifelong affection for farming.
Raymond’s passions were faith, family, and farming and was a member of The Knights of Columbus.
Raymond is survived by his wife Philomena of the home, sons John (Carol) Blaes of Cherryvale, KS, Tom (Melanie) Blaes of Cherryvale, KS, Marvin (Kim) Blaes of Cherryvale, KS, Jim (Tamara) Blaes of Cherryvale, KS, daughter Theresa (Jim) Gates of Independence, KS, sisters Coleen LaForge of Independence, KS, and Harriet Johnson of Chicago, IL, eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents Leo and Helen Blaes, sister, Marjorie Burns, brothers, Donald, Robert and Bill Blaes.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Cherryvale, KS.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Cherryvale, KS.
Memorial remembrances are suggested for Knights of Columbus, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, or The American Heart Association and can be mailed to or left with Wickham Family Funeral Home at 216 E. 4th, Cherryvale, KS.
