Raymond Alen Johnson

Raymond Alen Johnson, 68, a resident of New Albany, Kansas, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Fredonia Regional Hospital. He was born January 15, 1945 in Neodesha, Kansas, the son of Bert LeRoy and Velma May (Purdy) Johnson. Raymond worked in construction all of his life and had been employed by Zachary Construction and Farmland Industries. On February 11, 1974, he was united in marriage to Marcia Kay McBride, and they recently celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary. Marcia survives at their home. Raymond"s hobbies included watching the Western Channel on television, spending time with his family and especially being "Grandpa" and "Papa Ray" to his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Marcia, Raymond is survived by: Three children: Michael Johnson of Paola, Kansas Tracy Johnson of Bartlesville, Oklahoma Michelle Treloggen of New Albany, Kansas Mother-in-law: Norma McBride of Fredonia, Kansas Two brothers and seven grandchildren His parents, two sisters and one brother preceded Raymond in death. Cremation has taken place and a memorial graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Weakley Cemetery near New Albany, with Kathy Boden officiating.
