Phyllis Dickens

Phyllis Dickens, 81, a fourteen-year resident of Fredonia, Kansas, formerly of Anaheim, California, died Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Fredonia Regional Hospital. She was born January 20, 1929 in Providence, Rhode Island, the daughter of Jose and Francelina (dej Pavao) Silva. On November 5, 1954 in Folkston, Georgia, she married Ronald T. Dickens. He survives at their home in Fredonia. Phyllis worked as a practical nurse for several years at the Anaheim Medical Center. Survivors, in addition to her husband, Ronald, include: One daughter: Cheryle and her husband, Joseph Dougherty of San Jose, CA Three grandchildren: Julie and her husband, Tom Read of Morgan Hill, CA William and his wife, Michelle Dougherty of Seattle, WA Brian and his wife, Fulgencia Dougherty of San Antonio, TX Two great grandchildren: Cole Reed and Colin Dougherty As per Phyllis" request, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials have been established in her name with the American Cancer Society and Harry Hynes Memorial hospice and can be sent to the funeral home.
