Pearl Ellen Barker, 80, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Thursday, August 17, 2006 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Wichita, Kansas, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born February 2, 1926 in Fall River, Kansas, the daughter of Arthur and Leona (Brannaman) Ferguson. She was a graduate of Fredonia High School and was retired from J.C.Penney, where she was a sales clerk for many years. On June 8, 1946 in Fredonia, she married Donald David Barker. He preceded her in death September 2, 1994. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Busy Bee Club, Pennys Girls, V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliary. Her Survivors include: Two Sons Don Barker, Jr. of Lafontaine, KS Clarence Barker of Marble Falls, TX One Daughter Kathy Hebb of Fall River, KS One Brother Art Ferguson, Jr. of Wichita, KS One Sister Betty Chaffain of Sun City, AZ Ten Grandchildren and Seventeen Great Grandchildren Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at the Fredonia City Cemetery with Rev. Gene Benefiel of the Buxton Christian Church officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, 2:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in her name with the American Heart Association and may be sent to the funeral home.
