Ona Arlene Blaker, 88, a resident of Altoona, Kansas, died Thursday, September 28, 2006 at the Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was born July 30, 1918 in Neodesha, Kansas, the daughter of Raymond and Elsie (Housley) O"Leary. She was a graduate of Neodesha High School. She was a homemaker and had also been employed for several years as a cook at St. Margaret"s Mercy Hospital in Fredonia. On November 2, 1938 in Neodesha, she married Claudie M. Blaker. He preceded her in death September 24, 1985. She was a member of the Altoona Christian Church, Royal Neighbors, the Over Fifty Center in Altoona, and served on the Altoona Library Board. Her Survivors include: One Daughter Sheila Dunsworth of Augusta, KS Five Sons: Darryl Blaker of Aberdeen, ID Bob Blaker of Aberdeen, ID Randy Blaker of Oak Harbor, WA Ronnie Blaker of Altoona, KS Steve Blaker of American Falls, ID One Sister Wilma Marler of Neosho, MO 12 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren 20 great grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren 4 great-great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Evelyn McConnell and one brother, Virgil O"Leary. Graveside services will be held at 2:00P.M. on Monday, October 2, 2006 at the Altoona Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, 9:00 A.M.-Noon. A memorial has been established in her name with the Altoona Over Fifty Center and the Altoona Library and may be sent to the funeral home.
