Ollie L. Black, 90, of Fredonia, Kansas passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 at her home with family by her side.
Ollie L. Black was born October 20, 1927 in Fredonia, Kansas the daughter of William Gray and Ruth (Nelson) Gray. She grew up on a farm near Benedict, Kansas and graduated from Benedict High School.
On January 9, 1947 in Fredonia, Kansas she was united in marriage to Harold Black and he preceded her in death April 24, 1976.
She worked at First National Bank of Fredonia as a teller and retired after many years of employment.
Ollie enjoyed collecting Santa Claus collectibles and spending time with family and friends. She was a loyal fan of the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs.
Ollie will be remembered for loving her Lord, family and friends. Her smile would brighten everyone’s day.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Fredonia, 1910 Club and First Christian Church Thrift Shop.
Survivors include her children, Ron Black and his wife Jan of Fredonia, Kansas, Sharon Seitz and her husband Charles of Udall, Kansas, brother, Floyd “Bud” Gray of Fredonia, Kansas, grandchildren, Troy Black (Michelle), Misha Millar (Mark), Jason Black (Lynn), Tanya Dowell (Rod), Heather Underkofler (KB), step grandchildren, Jason Adams, Kimberly Bunting (Kevin), great grandchildren, Gaston Millar, Merrick Millar, Allison Emmitt, Ryan Emmitt, Brett Black, Caleb Black, Josh Black, Raiden Black, Cara Black, Lauren Dowell, Colby Underkofler, Madison Underkofler, step grandchildren, Kadelyn Bunting, Camden Bunting, cousin, Michael Jeffers, nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, William Gray Jr., step brother, Berl Gray, step sister, Lelia Sciflett, friend, Eldon Cox, aunt, Alice Nelson, aunt, Bonnie Morgan and cousin, Evelyn Jeffers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 N. 7th, Fredonia, Kansas.
Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 25, 2018 at First Christian Church, 303 N. 7th Street, Fredonia, Kansas with Reverend Claude Shue, officiating.
Interment will immediately follow at Farmington Cemetery.
Memorial remembrances are suggested to the First Christian Church or the Thrift Shop and they may be mailed or left at the funeral home.
