Norma Jean Savely, 81, a resident of Neodesha, Kansas, formerly of Fall River, Kansas, died Monday, September 28, 2015 at Kansas Medical Center in Andover, KS. She was born June 2, 1934 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Otis and Mary (Hoge) Patterson. She was united in marriage to Donald W. Savely. They made their home in Wichita before moving to Fall River. He preceded her in death in 2003. Norma worked at John Leeker"s Family Foods for several years when she resided in Wichita. Later she was employed by Kansas Bank Note Company in Fredonia as a perforator operator for nearly 20 years, retiring in 1997. Following retirement, she worked part-time for the Wilson County Conservation District office. She enjoyed crafting, crocheting and tending to her plants and flowers. Her survivors include: Son: John Savely of Mulvane, KS Daughters: Nancy Duncan of Wichita, KS Donna Kibby of Neodesha, KS Anne Matlock of Independence, KS Sisters: Betty Phifer of South Carolina Grace Harvey of Wichita, KS Jerry Ann Duffman of Neodesha, KS Brother: Richard Patterson of Wichita, KS Eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren Her parents; daughter, Wanda Roe; and several brothers and sisters also preceded her in death. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Fredonia City Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Norma"s name with Rankin Library in Neodesha and contributions can be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home. Words of condolence may be left on this website.
