MARY WEINDORFERMary Weindorfer, 98, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 at her home.Mary Weindorfer was born"April 28, 1918 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania the daughter of John Dittrich and Barbara (Balaga) Dittrich. She grew up in and attended schools in Philadelphia.On August 3, 1943 in Philadelphia she was united in marriage to Peter S. Weindorfer and he preceded her in death March 18, 2009.Mary worked for Sears as a supervisor and retired in 1989 after 27 years. She moved to Cherryvale in 2001.She loved to garden and enjoyed her time visiting with family and friends. Mary will be"remembered as a straight shooter, she didn"t hold anything back and told you how it was.She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Altar Society.Survivors include son, Michael Weindorfer of Cherryvale, Kansas, grandchildren, Angela Musgrove of Independence, Kansas, Richard Timmins of Cherryvale, Kansas, Steven Weindorfer of Guthrie, Oklahoma, five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, sister, two brothers, and daughter in law, Ramona Weindorfer.Reciting of the Rosary will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church 9:30 A.M., Thursday, October 20, 2016 with Mass of Christian Burial to follow with Reverend Marco De Loera, celebrant.Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th Street, Cherryvale, Kansas.Interment will be held in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery.Memorial remembrances are suggested to the St. Francis Xavier Altar Society and they may left or mailed to the funeral home.
