Marvin “Hoss” T. Ford, 69, of rural Altoona, Kansas formerly of Fall River Kansas and Fredonia, Kansas passed away, Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, Kansas.
Marvin T. Ford was born September 23, 1949 in Cedarvale, Kansas the son of Delbert W. Ford and Dorothy Armena (Doty) Ford. He graduated from Fredonia High School in 1967.
On February 14, 2009 in Fredonia, Kansas he was united in marriage to Vicki Lynn Vandaveer and she survives at the home.
Marvin received his welding certificate at Wichita Area Training Center and later worked as a welder at Harper Hand Trucks in Wichita, Kansas.
He worked as a truck driver for Smith Brothers Trucking for five years and later for Starbuck Trucking for over 10 plus years. He hauled mail in the 1980’s and worked in the oil field hauling drilling mud.
Marvin helped out on the family farm in Fall River with his parents whenever possible.
He served with the Kansas Army National Guard for many years and was honorably discharged.
Marvin will be remembered for his kindness, friendship and big heart. He had a lasting love for his family. He absolutely loved exploring and going mudding.
He attended the Fall River Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife Vicki of the home, children, Sean and Skye Ford of Independence, Kansas, Alfred and Stephanie Kidd of Bennington, Kansas. Delbert and Amy Ford of Caney, Kansas, Robin Beachy of Neodesha, Kansas, Rebecca and Matt Bastings of Carthage, Missouri, sister, Debra Hogan and husband Larry Schmidt of Alva, Oklahoma, cousin, Brenda and Neal Derrick of Stinnett, Texas, grandchildren, Leo Ford, Xavier Ford, Donavin Ford, Simon Westhoff, Delbert Ford, Naomi Ford, Blake Ford, Avery Kidd, Jaxson Kidd, Alec Beachy, Paullix Beachy, Sydney Bastings, Dawson Bastings, Reece Bastings and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son in law Ray Beachy.
Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life Memories will be held from 1:00 P.M., Friday, October 12, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 402 North 8th Street, Fredonia, Kansas.
