Martha Ruth Stipp, 68, a resident of Chanute, Kansas, died Monday, December 26, 2011 at Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was born June 30, 1943 in Fredonia, the daughter of Herb and Elva Ruth (McPherson) Hare. Martha was a school bus driver for USD 413 in Chanute for many years. On March 1, 1964, Martha was united in marriage to Darrel Stipp. He survives in Chanute. Martha was a member of the First Christian Church in Fredonia. She was an active supporter of Relay for Life and a regular blood donor. She loved watching her grandchildren in all of their sports activities and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and K.U. Jayhawks fan. In addition to her husband, Darrel, she is survived by: Two sons: Shawn and Marsha Stipp of Humboldt, KS Brett Stipp of Chanute, KS One sister: Suzy Dixon of Wichita, KS Two brothers: Max Hare of Harper, KS Larry Hare of Coyville, KS Three grandchildren. Her parents; one daughter, Michelle Stipp Ranabargar; and two brothers, Herb Hare, Jr. and Willie Hare preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 30, 2011 at the First Christian Church in Fredonia with Pastor Milo Steffen officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at the church. A memorial has been established in Martha"s name with Relay for Life and donations can be sent to Timmons Funeral Home. Words of condolence for the family may be left on this website.
