Marlene K. Thompson

Marlene K. Thompson, 81, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Marlene Kay Thompson was born February 27, 1941, in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma the daughter of Edward Bearden and Stella Boyer. She received her GED and later her Associates Degree from Independence Community College in 1993.
On July 3, 1956, in Miami, Oklahoma she was united in marriage to Floyd E. Thompson, and he preceded her in death October 18, 2014.
She worked as a nursing home administrator, HD Lees in Cherryvale for 12 years and as a secretary for McKenzie Bridge Christian Church for 4 years.
Marlene enjoyed sewing and reading. She will be remembered for being a loving, caring, hardworking spouse, mother, grandma, great grandma, sister, and aunt.
She was a member of the New Hope Christian Church in Cherryvale.
Survivors include her children, Wes Thompson and his wife Tonna of Cherryvale, Kansas, Holly Mulvaney and her husband Todd of Papillion, Nebraska, sister-in-law, Susan Thompson of Independence, Kansas, siblings, Linda Plute of Coffeyville, Kansas, Janie Wells of Missouri, Roger Boyer of Cherryvale, Kansas, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Mark Thompson, and sister, Sharon Case.
Celebration of Life Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Sunday March 13, 2022, at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.
Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Dementia Foundation or American Heart Association, and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
