Marilyn Jean Wadman passed away on May 27th in Cherryvale, KS. Marilyn was born June 14th, 1945 in Wichita, KS to Dale and Erlene Barber. She met her loving husband of 54 years, Nick Wadman, when they were Seniors at Southeast High School in Wichita.
They settled in Tulsa, OK where they raised their family and enjoyed camping, soccer and all the kids’ activities.
Marilyn was the ultimate soccer mom, homeroom mother, a talented seamstress, the coolest grandma and devoted wife who selflessly took care of her family.
She had many health issues over the years, but she never let it affect her family. She loved her 8 grandchildren beyond words.
Even as her dementia robbed her of so much, she always found joy in being around her family and friends.
She was patiently and lovingly cared for by her husband Nick until the very end. She passed peacefully at home and had been surrounded by all of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Erlene Barber, her sister Janice (Barber) Powers, and her in-laws Charles and Marjorie Wadman.
She is survived by her husband, Nick, her sister-in-law Sharon Wadman, her daughter Trenny Garrett (Bruce Meckem), Todd Wadman (Tracy Angell), Tiffany Rhoades (Michael), her eight grandchildren, Parker Garrett (17), Marran Garrett (15), Preston Garrett (15), Kate Wadman (15), Nickolas Wadman (13), Emily Wadman (13), Quintan Rhoades (14), Finley Rhoades (11) and brother, Lyle Barber.
The family will welcome friends from 10:00 A.M. until 12 Noon, Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas.
Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Cherryvale Booster Club or Cherryvale Alumni Association and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
