Marie L. Moorhead

Marie L. Moorhead, 91, a longtime resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Friday, July 24, 2015 at Cherryvale Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born July 15, 1924 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Andrew and Rose (Graziano) Lomonaco. Marie worked as a clerk for Sears for more than 50 years. On May 6, 1957, Marie was united in marriage to Robert W. Moorhead. He preceded her in death April 24, 1982. Marie was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the Sacred Heart Altar Society. She was also active with Fredonia Regional Hospital Auxiliary and TOPS Club. Marie loved to travel. Her survivors include: One son: Michael (Beverly) Moorhead of Fredonia, KS One daughter: Kathy (Ted) Blevins of Edna, KS Four grandchildren: Lisa Prater of Olathe, KS Erick Moorhead of Columbus, OH Miranda (Nic) Moreland of Caney, KS Marissa Blevins of Parsons, KS Three great grandchildren She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. A rosary will be said at 9:30 A.M. followed by funeral mass at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Church with Father Daniel Vacca officiating. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Marie"s name with the Sacred Heart Altar Society and contributions can be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home.
