Lucille Morgan-Petty

Lucille Morgan-Petty, 93, a longtime resident of Altoona, Kansas, formerly of Valley Center, Kansas, died Friday, October 29, 2010 at Fredonia Regional Hospital. She was born January 30, 1917 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Vonley and Elisabeth (Barnes) Dennison. Lucille worked at the Wichita Clinic for 20 years, administering hearing tests and assisting in the Ear, Nose and Throat Department. Lucille was married, in Wichita, Kansas, to Jesse "Bill" Morgan Sr. He preceded her in death in 1976. Lucille was a member of the Verdigris Valley Christian Fellowship in Altoona and the Eastern Star, where she was awarded the 50-year pin. Her survivors include: Three children: Wilma Payne of Wichita, KS Jesse W. Morgan Jr. of East Wenatchee, WA Corliss Voncille Matney of Clever, MO One sister: Voney Faye Shelley of Wichita, KS Seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren She was also preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Bobby Leon Hensley. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Verdigris Valley Christian Fellowship in Altoona with Pastor Jim Raymond officiating. Burial will be in the Altoona Cemetery. Friends may call at Timmons Funeral Home on Tuesday, 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in Lucille"s name with the Susan G. Komen Foundation and can be sent to the funeral home. Family condolences may be left on this website.
