Lorene L. Myers

Lorene L. Myers, 88, a lifelong resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Saturday, June 13, 2009 at her daughter"s home. She was born August 20, 1920 in Fredonia, the daughter of Oscar and Nell (Turney) Smith. On July 8, 1936, in Nowata, Oklahoma, she married Harold Myers. He preceded her in death December 2, 1993. Lorene was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and was very active in all aspects of the church. For many years, she was a seamstress for Fruhauf Uniforms. She was also known for her homemade pies that she made daily for the Western Diner. Lorene"s survivors include: Seven children and spouses: Jerry and Arleta Myers of Fredonia, KS Judy and Galen Dirks of Fort Worth, TX Carol and Mickey Harman of Fredonia, KS Bonnie and Hugh Donaldson of Hermitage, AR Sharon and Dan Hunt of Newark, TX Lucky and Carlotta Myers of Fredonia, KS Tim and Lori Myers of Saginaw, TX One brother and sister-in-law: Bill and Nell Smith of Mississippi One sister: Roseanne Spletcher of Coffeyville, KS 41 Grandchildren; 99 Great Grandchildren; and 17 Great-Great Grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Delores Stierwalt; one brother, Rev. Loren O. Smith; one sister, Dorothy Ellen Gagnon; and three grandchildren, Steven W. Myers, Harold F. Myers III, and Harold Hugh Donaldson II. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the Bible Baptist Church in Fredonia. Burial will be in the Altoona Cemetery. Friends may call at Timmons Funeral Home on Monday evening, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in Lorene"s name with the Bible Baptist Church and may be sent to the funeral home.
