Lillie Jane Smith, 52, a resident of Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania. She formally resided in Coffeyville, Neodesha, and Fredonia. The daughter of Janet (Coughenour) and Winfred (Bud) Maggard, she was born July 13, 1955 in Coffeyville, Kansas. She graduated with honors from Coffeyville High School, Independence Community College, and Kansas State University. She was employed by the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia as an accountant. Lillie was married to Donald Patchett, had two sons and later divorced. In March of 1980 she married John C. Smith of Fredonia and he survives at their home. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Phi Beta Kappa, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Veterinary Medical Association Auxiliary, and the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW. As a Soldier's spouse Lillie worked extensively with the Army Family Team Building Program and Army Family Support Group Program holding various leadership positions in each. Survivors, in addition to her husband, John, include: three sons: Luke J. Patchett of Jefferson City, MO Adam E. Patchett of Daly City, CA Charles R. Smith II of Las Vegas, NV her step-father: Bud Maggard of Coffeyville 2 grandchildren She was preceded in death by her mother, Janet Maggard. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the Timmons Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Kerry Holyoak of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. As Lillie was an avid reader, the family has established a memorial in her name at the Fredonia Public Library and donations may be sent to the funeral home.
