Lillian Mae Sayre, age 91, of Cherryvale passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021.
Lillian was born on February 20, 1930, in Morehead, Kansas to Alfred Ethan and Dorothy Matilda (Cox) Wilson. She graduated in 1948 from Labette County High School in Altamont.
On September 1, 1962, she was united in marriage to James H. Sayre. They were married for 55 years. James passed away on January 11, 2017.
She worked at Reliance Manufacturing Company and H.D. Lee in Cherryvale where she was a supervisor. She also worked at Automotive Controls/Dana Manufacturing in Independence, retiring from Dana in 2001 at the age of 71. Lillian was also an Avon Representative for 34 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy LeAnn Ayers and her husband, Terry of Pineville, MO; Two grandsons, Casey Ayers and wife, Kim of Pineville, MO., and James Ayers and wife Laura of Bella Vista, AR; Three great-grandchildren, James Oliver Ayers, Alexia Mae Ayers, and Kaydence ShyAnn Ayers; a sister, Maxine Perkins of Springfield, IL., many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother.
Lillian was a long-standing member of the First Baptist Church in Cherryvale.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 22, at Wickham Family Funeral Home at 216 E. 4th Street, Cherryvale. The Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Morehead Cemetery, Morehead, KS.
