Leora I. Adams, 85, passed away, January 19, 2022 at Morningstar in Fredonia, Kansas. Leora was born February 15, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, to August Carl and Laura Jane (O’Conner) Luceus.
Leora attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, where she met and married, Marvin Eugene Adams on September 10, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan. The couple had been married nearly 67 years. Marvin survives at the home.
In addition to being a pastor’s wife, mother, foster mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, Leora was a medical records supervisor. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching TV, listening to the radio, reading, cooking and coloring. Leora especially enjoyed a good mystery. Leora was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and will be remembered for her love of God and her family. Leora adored each one of her grandchildren and was the happiest when she was surrounded by her family.
In addition to her husband, Marvin, Leora is survived by her son, Marvin Adams, Fredonia, Kansas, brother, Lindsay Luceus, Warren, Michigan, grandchildren; Melissa Bradley, Iola, Kansas, Megan Howard and Trevor Gray, Fredonia, Kansas, Mistina Adams and Tyler Bolt, Fredonia, Kansas, great-grandchildren; Laura, Fayth and Wesley Simpson, Haleigh, Alivia and Austin Howard, Missy Bell, Jhett Gray and Chris Leonard JR, and great-great grandchild, Noah James Howard.
Leora was preceded in death by her parents, August and Laura Luceus and brothers, Larry and Richard Luceus and great-great grandchild, Kaia Ilene Bryant.
Services will be held at a later date, under the direction of Wickham Family Funeral Home 510 N. 7th Fredonia, Kansas.
