Leon Larkin

Evert Leon Larkin Sr., 73, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Saturday, February 17, 2007, at his home. He was born October 15, 1933 in Buxton, Kansas, the son of Howard Evert and Alice (Matthews) Larkin. He was a farmer On March 6, 1952 in Wichita, Kansas, he married Orlis Gates. She survives at their home. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Orlis, include: Two sons: Evert Leon Larkin Jr. of Fredonia, KS Michale Larkin of Thayer, KS One daughter: Sharon Kay Wilham of Independence, KS Two brothers: Dwayne Larkin of Little Rock, AR Larry Larkin of Clarinda, IA One sister: Katherine Carlburg of Fredonia, KS 4 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Vicki Matlock; his step-mother, Lorena Larkin; two sisters; and two brothers. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, at the Fredonia City Cemetery with Rev. Les Miller officiating. The family will receive friends at Timmons Funeral Home on Tuesday, 4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. and Wednesday, 9:00 A.M.-Noon. A memorial has been established in his name with the American Heart Association and may be sent to the funeral home.
