LaVone Ida Kimble, age 93, of Chanute, Kansas, peacefully passed away on February 19, 2025, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. 

She was born on July 19, 1931, in Concordia, Kansas, to Efford and Mary (Kuhn) Neptune. She was united in marriage to Harold Kimble on September 27, 1952, in Wichita, KS. She spent many years as a Murray Hill School cook. 

A cherished member of the Otterbein Community Church of Chanute, she devoted herself to her faith, her church and her community. LaVone supported her local veterans as a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She leaves behind her son David (Sue) Kimble of Sherman, Texas, and her daughter Karen (Robert) Wright, of Walnut, Kansas. Two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and her sister-in-law, Lucille Neptune of Wichita, Kansas.LaVone joins her beloved husband, her parents, and her brother Marvin in eternal rest. They will be remembered fondly and missed dearly.

Memorials are suggested to the Otterbein Community Church of Chanute and can be left with or mailed to the funeral home. 

A viewing will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Wickham Family Funeral Home, at 500 N Forest Ave, Chanute, KS 66720. A graveside service will take place Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery, in Chanute, Kansas. 

Services are under the personal care of Wickham Family Funeral Home 500 North Forest Ave. Chanute, Kansas.
