Kenneth Phillip Beemer

Kenneth Phillip Beemer, 92, a rural resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Friday, December 17, 2010 at his home. He was born October 12, 1918 at the family home west of Lafontaine, Kansas, to Guy and Eda (Thomas) Beemer. Kenneth lived his entire life west of Lafontaine, where he had a farming and cattle business. On February 1, 1941, he was joined in marriage to Betty Jean Shinkle in Fredonia, where they enjoyed 65 years of marriage until her death on May 18, 2006. Kenneth was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia. He had served as a 4-H leader, member of the Radiant Electric Coop Board, and the Rural Water District. Mr. Beemer"s survivors include: One daughter: Jeanean Wright of Altoona, Kansas One son: Kelsey Beemer of Havre, Montana Six grandchildren Five great grandchildren One great-great grandchild Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Timmons Funeral Home with Pastor Charlotte Coates of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. Friends may call at Timmons Funeral Home on Monday, 2:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. Memorials have been established in Kenneth"s name with the American Heart Association and the Parkinson"s Foundation and can be sent to the funeral home.
