Kenneth Earl Jarred

Kenneth E. Jarred, 73, a resident of Derby, Kansas, died on Monday, July 26, 2010, at the Haysville Nursing Home in Haysville, Kansas. He was born February 26, 1937 in Altoona, Kansas. Kenneth served as a Staff Sergeant in the National Guard for 12 years. Later in life Kenneth worked at Boeing as a fork lift operator where he was employed for 28 years. In September of 1956, in Neodesha, Kansas, he married Phyllis Bretches. She survives at their home. Survivors, in addition to his wife Phyllis, include: 3 Children: Jeffrey Jarred of Latham, Kansas Keni Decker of Lansing, Kansas Lloyd Jarred of Wichita, Kansas 2 Sisters: Mary Rettman of Altoona, Kansas Margie Brown of Cherryvale, Kansas Her mother-in-law: Genovive Bretches of Pine Lake, LA 9 Grandchildren Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 30, 2010 at Altoona Cemetery with Pastor Jim Raymond of the Verdigris Valley Christian Fellowship officiating. Visitation at Timmons Funeral Home will be Thursday, July 29, 2:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M., with the family receiving friends 6:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials have been established with The American Heart Association or The American Diabetes Association in Kenneth"s name and contributions can be sent to the funeral home.
