Kathy Marie (Jones) Wooten, 62, of Pretty Prairie, KS, passed away on March 15, 2023, after a life long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Kathy was born on October 7, 1961, to Clara and Jimmie Jones in Fredonia, KS. After Kathy graduated from Fredonia High School in 1978, she married Philip Blane Wooten of Fredonia and had three children: Geoffrey, Ian and Megan.
Kathy worked multiple jobs in Fredonia and Kingman to support her family. At the age of 31 she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis which forced her into early retirement. She passed her days following diagnoses with family and friends, living to find small joys in everyday life. Supporting the National MS Society and participating in local MS events became a passion until she was no longer independent.
Kathy was predeceased in death by her brother-James George Jones, her sister-Sheryl Jones, father-Jimmie George Jones, and her mother Clara (Spillman) Jones. She is survived by her sons; Geoffrey Alan Wooten (grandchildren, Adien, Madison, Hudson, Sadie); Ian James Wooten (grandchildren, Ellie Kay, Allen James) of Kingman, KS and daughter Megan Blaine Wooten (grandchildren, Elise LeAnn, Pelagia Marelle) of Bellingham, WA.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Fredonia City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to National MS Society, at www.nationalmssociety.org/Donate and they may be mailed or left at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 North 7th, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
