KATHLEEN (KITTY) LOUISE SHOAF
Kathleen Shoaf passed away December 11, 2020, at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.
Born Kathleen Louise Hall on April 25, 1927, in Greenville, Illinois to Edgar Reed and Rhoda Louise Hall. She grew up in and around Greenville, Illinois.
On July 5, 1947, she married William Howard Shoaf. They lived in Greenville, Illinois until Howard finished his service in the Army Air Corp in 1949. They moved to Fredonia and made their home. He proceeded her in death on March 13, 2006.
Kitty was a homemaker and the couple raised 3 children. She loved being surrounded by her family. She was a master baker, mostly using feel and intuition rather than recipes. She knew everyone's favorite pie or cookie and would have it made when they came to visit, in addition to her homemade cinnamon rolls.
She was a member of the Fredonia Calvary Wesleyan Church, Busy Bees and 1910 Club. She enjoyed going to the 2:00 afternoon coffee meeting at the Western Diner in Fredonia with the ladies.
Preceded by her husband, parents, siblings, Edgar Hall, William Hall, and Eva Gardner; great granddaughter Kailey Shoaf.
Survivors include her children William (Diane) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Joyce (Phillip) Sublett and Robert (Ginny) Shoaf of Overland Park, Kansas. Nine grandchildren, Jeff Shoaf, Jennifer Austin, Julie Jones, Tessa Sarver, Rebecca Sublett, Jennifer Gavito, Matthew Shoaf, Michael Shoaf, Megan King, 14 great grandchildren, brother, Carl Hall of O’Fallon, Illinois, sister, Linda Link of Greenville, Illinois and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Maple Grove Cemetery near Roper, Kansas.
Memorial remembrances ae suggested in lieu of flowers to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and they may be left or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 North 7th, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
