JUNE LEE (COLEMAN) HARRISJune L. (Coleman) Harris, 91, of Cherryvale passed away Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Cherryvale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.June Lee Coleman Harris was born June 21, 1923 in Cherryvale, Kansas the daughter of Arthur McKinley Coleman and Mabel Lillian (Carson) Coleman.On January 28, 1977 in Lyndon, Kansas she was united in marriage to Wylie V. Harris and he preceded her in death October 3, 1989.She received her Bachelor and Masters of Science Degrees in Education from Pittsburg State University. June was a teacher for Shawnee Mission Schools for 37 years and she retired in 1981. She lived and worked in Shawnee Mission and back to Cherryvale the remainder of her life.She was a member of the Cherryvale United Methodist Church.She is survived by step daughter, Marilyn Kay Harris of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, step son, Gary Kim Harris, Marblehead, Mass.According to her wishes her body has been dedicated to the Kansas University Medical Center and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted with Wickham Family Funeral Home of Cherryvale.
