Juliann "Julie" Porter

Juliann M. "Julie" Porter, 76, a longtime resident of rural Fredonia, Kansas passed away early Saturday morning, October 26th, 2013 at her home. She was born December 1st, 1936 in Washington, Kansas, the daughter of Howard E and Mary J (Merkey) Rose. On February 27th, 1965 in Fredonia, Kansas, Julie was united in marriage to Wayne E. Porter. Together they built a farm, a family and a home. Julie is survived by her husband Wayne of the home, as well as three daughters, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Daughter: Beth Burns of Neodesha, Kansas Grandson: Joshua and Laura Walker Great Grandchild: Bailey Granddaughter: Melissa Burns Grandson: Blaze Burns Daughter: Pam and Jeff Dunham of Cassoday, Kansas Granddaughter: Carley Dunham Great Grandson: Diesel Grandson: Nicholas Dunham Granddaughter: Samantha Schneider Daughter: Wynette and James Kelley of Bel Aire, Kansas Granddaughter: Abby Kelley Grandson: Daniel Kelley Brothers: Lee Andrewson of Derby, Kansas Terry Rose of San Antonio, Texas Tim Quick of Clay Center, Kansas Sister: Twila Rose of Clay Center, Kansas Godson: Evan Porter of Fredonia, Kansas Julie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Arletta Profitt and Patsy Buckner, and brother, Glenn Rose. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 29th, 2013 at the Fredonia City Cemetery with Rev. Gene Benefiel of the Buxton Christian Church officiating. A memorial has been established in Julie"s name with the Fredonia Flag Fund and contributions can be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home.
