Judy Kay Nordt

Judy Kay (Bailey) Nordt, 73, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2025, at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center. Born on May 19, 1951, in Bonham, Texas, to Albert and Lucy (Stone) Bailey.

Judy's life was marked by her unwavering kindness and a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life. Judy graduated from Chanute High School in the class of 1969.

She was profoundly dedicated to her husband, Bryan, with whom she built a strong and loving home. Judy's nurturing spirit was evident in her roles as a mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Melissa (Kenneth) Colston, Gary Shultz, and Jennifer (Mark) Adler, and is fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Tiffany (Joey) DeCoster, Sean (Sherlinda) Felkins, Johanna (Billy) Nading, Tasha (Dillon) Greve, Dakota Shultz, and Benjamin Barnhart. Additionally, she was blessed with the joy of 14 great-grandchildren.

Judy had a passion for life that shone through in her many hobbies. She found joy in playing bingo, eagerly watched her beloved soap operas, and spent countless hours piecing together puzzles. Her love for challenges was evident in her enjoyment of crossword puzzles, which she tackled with enthusiasm. Above all, Judy had a great affection for her animals, reflecting her gentle nature and readiness to give love to those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, along with several siblings and two grandsons, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Judy's kind spirit and dedication to her family will forever be remembered by all who knew her. Her memory will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Wickham Family Funeral Home 500 North Forest Ave, Chanute, Kansas, followed by a Funeral Service at Noon.
