John "Tim" Timothy Preston

John “Tim” Timothy Preston, 60, of Oswego, Kansas passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Labette Health in Parsons, Kansas.

John Timothy Preston was born July 8, 1962, in Dallas, Texas, the son of John Timothy Preston and Mary (Copeland) Preston.

He attended and graduated from Independence Bible School in 1981.

John was a Truck Driver where he was the owner/operator and later had to retire due to health-related issues. He then mowed the lawn at Alltra Corporation.

John married Dottie K. Cavaness March 20, 1982, in Independence, Kansas.

John was a people person and never met a stranger, he enjoyed all things outdoors but fishing, gardening, and hunting mushrooms were some of his favorites. He also loved music and was very talented, he could sing and play instruments at the drop of a hat.

Survivors include his wife, Dottie Preston, mother, Mary Preston of Mayetta, Kansas, daughter, Tiffany (Andrew) Nicole Nelson of Mound Valley, Kansas, sister, Joann (Dari) Stotts of Mayetta, Kansas, Susie Preston (Ron) of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, two grandchildren, Riley and Parker Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his father John Timothy Preston.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday April 27, 2023, at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Friday, April 28, 2023, 2:30 P.M. at Bible Holiness Church in Cherryvale, Kansas.

Interment will follow services at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale.

Memorial remembrances are suggested to Independence Bible School Scholarship Fund and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
