JOHN ROBERT FRENCH John R. French, 75, of Wichita, Kansas passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at his home. John Robert French was born September 3, 1940 in Wichita, Kansas the son of Henry Wilber French and Lillie Maye (Averill) French. He grew up in Viola and graduated from Viola High School. After graduating her enlisted with the United States Army and was later honorably discharged. John worked for John Deere, PepsiCo as a bottle inspector. He later worked for Cessna in Wichita as a machinist and retired in 2002. He was a member of the Viola Baptist church. John was known for always helping people and as a jokester telling funny stories and songs. Survivors include his brother William Roger French of Clearwater, Kansas, nephew, Kenneth Eugene French of Fredonia, Kansas, nieces, Jill French Gorton of rural Fall River, Kansas and Lori Sue Hernandez of Fredonia, Kansas. Celebration of Life funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 25, 2016 at Timmons/Wickham Family Funeral Home of Fredonia. Family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Weakley Cemetery, New Albany, Wilson County, Kansas. Memorial remembrances are suggested to The Lords Diner and they may left at or mailed to the funeral home.
