John R. Clark

John Richard Clark, 66, died unexpectedly April 19, 2017 in Cherryvale, Kansas. Born March 23, 1951 to John U. and Pearl Clark (nee’ Sparks) in Orrick, Missouri. John attended school in Lawrence, Kansas. He married Sandra S. Cooper on August 24, 1970. They were parents of one daughter, Kristi Sue Clark, born in 1980.

He joined the USMC in January 1970. He served in the 1st FSR in shipping and receiving. His tour overseas was in support unit for the Vietnam War in Okinawa. He was awarded an honorable discharge in December of 1972. Before retiring, John was a machinist by trade.

John was a loving man who put his family first. He will be missed more than words can express.

Survivors include wife Sandra S. Clark of the home, Kristi S. Clark Mossberg of Cherryvale, Kansas, 2 grandchildren, Brody and Maggie Mossberg, sister, Norma Kauffman of Urich, Missouri, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Elsie.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.
