JOAN MARIE ROBINETTJoan M. Robinett, 80, of Independence, Kansas died early Sunday morning at her son"s home in Cherryvale.Joan Marie Robinett was born May 10, 1934 in Cherryvale, Kansas the daughter of Melvin Carson and Elizabeth (King) Carson. She grew up in Cherryvale and attended Altamont schools.On August 19, 1952 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma she was united in marriage to Alvin A. "Sonny" Robinett and they were later divorced.Joan worked as a central service technician at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center and she retired after 20 years.She loved going to the area casinos, cooking especially chicken and noodles and attending bible study. She will be remembered for her quick wittiness and love for her family.Survivors include one daughter, Marie Elaine Abdu of Coffeyville, Kansas, three sons, Gary Alvin Robinett of Cherryvale, Kansas, Rick Robinett of Rowlett, Texas, Ronnie Dean Robinett of Independence, Kansas, one brother Jerry Lee Carson of Dearing, Kansas, nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and two grandsons.Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th Street, Cherryvale, Kansas with Jim York, officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Cherryvale, Kansas.
