Jerry Oscar Myers, Sr.

Jerry Oscar Myers Sr., 77, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at his home. He was born February 10, 1938 in Altoona, Kansas, the son of Harold and Laurine (Smith) Myers. Jerry served in the Kansas National Guard. He retired in 1995 from Renaissance Park, where he was a certified nursing aide. On July 8, 1959, Jerry was united in marriage to Arleta Fay Lamons. She preceded him in death February 2, 2011. Jerry"s survivors include: Five children: Jerry Myers Jr. of Fredonia, KS Troy Myers of Fredonia, KS Lora Reyes of Azle, TX Keith Myers of Fredonia, KS Kary Spigelmyer of Weatherford, TX Six siblings: Harold Myers Jr. of Fredonia, KS Carol Harmon of Fredonia, KS Bonnie Donaldson of Kansas Judy Dierks of Saginaw, TX Tim Myers of Saginaw, TX Sharon Hunt of Joplin, MO Ten grandchildren He was preceded in death by his sister, Delores Stirewalt and one son, Stephen Wayne Myers. Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established in Jerry"s name with the American Cancer Society and donations can be sent to or left with the funeral home.
